Privacy Policy
Effective 20 September 2026
Immigration Visa Limited operates this policy research service and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Information we collect
After three policy questions, we ask advisers for their name, adviser licence number, email address and phone number. We also collect information submitted through our contact form, limited technical information needed for security and signed cookies that remember access. Adviser licence details supplied through the form are not independently verified unless we tell you otherwise.
Do not put client names, passport numbers, medical details, criminal-history details or other identifying client information into policy questions.
Why we use it
We use personal information to provide and administer access; respond to requests; support, secure and improve our products and services; prevent misuse; maintain business and legal records; and comply with law. If an adviser separately selects the optional product-updates box, we may also contact that adviser about related products and services. That optional choice is not required to use the tool and may be withdrawn through the contact form.
Policy questions
Raw policy questions are not written to our application audit log. A policy question may be processed transiently by contracted infrastructure or automated processing providers to return a grounded result. Questions should therefore be anonymised and contain only the facts needed for policy research.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose only what is reasonably necessary to hosting, security, communications and processing providers acting for us, professional advisers, or public authorities where required by law. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand and will be subject to their contractual and legal safeguards.
Storage and security
Registration and contact details are encrypted before storage. Encryption and session keys are kept separately from the database. Access is restricted, transport is protected by HTTPS, administrative access is separately authenticated, and public logs exclude registration details. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Retention
Anonymous question counters expire after 30 days. Registration and contact records are ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after the last relevant activity, unless a longer period is reasonably required for legal, dispute, security or recordkeeping purposes. Data is then deleted or de-identified.
Cookies
We use Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite cookies to count the three introductory questions and remember registered access. They do not contain an adviser's form details.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access or correct your personal information, request deletion where applicable, or withdraw optional product-update consent. Use our Contact us form. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
Changes
We may update this policy when the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the published version.
